Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard 100% Casein is a slow-digesting protein powder formulated to support muscle recovery during periods without food, such as overnight or between meals. Each serving provides 24 grams of micellar casein protein, which is derived from milk and releases amino acids gradually compared to whey, along with 9 grams of naturally occurring essential amino acids. The product is also an excellent source of magnesium and zinc.
This version uses micellar casein, a form recognized for its slow digestion, and is banned substance tested through a partnership with LGC Informed Choice, a quality assurance program that screens for prohibited substances in sports nutrition. It mixes easily with just a glass and spoon and is available in multiple flavors, including Chocolate Supreme, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cookies & Cream, and Creamy Vanilla.
